Utah State did its duty tonight, swamping Utah Valley State 87-56. 13-21 on three-point attempts paved the way for the Aggies.

Nevada had no trouble with South Dakota State winning 92-72. The Wolf Pack didn't shoot well from three-point range -- 23.5% -- but did go 35-65 overall. Luke Babbitt notched a double-double of 16/10 and Brandon Fields led Coach David Carter's team with 20 points in 22 minutes of play.

Idaho also was victorious, beating Eastern Oregon by just five, 82-77. Travis Mason-Bushman has the details, including video interviews with Coach Don Verlin and center Marvin Jefferson (who put up a double-double of 14/11) here. Eastern Oregon stayed in the game on 47% overall shooting.

Louisiana Tech and Centenary wore out the scoreboard with the Bulldogs winning 102-96 in double overtime. LT shot 53% for the game while the Gents put in 55% of their shot attempts. Curiously, Centenary outscored Coach Kerry Rupp's squad 48-32 in the opening 20 minutes and then it was an identical reverse in the second half. Kyle Gibson led with 28 points and Magnum Rolle notched a double-double of 22/11. Most teams wouod be ecstatic to shoot 50% on treys (10-20) as Tech did but Centenary was an amazing 20-29 from long range.

San Diego traveled up to Boise and came away the winner 59-56. Neither team was particularly effective offensively with both shooting 41% as the difference was the Toreros made six threes to a trio of long distance shots for the Broncos. BSU enjoyed a 27-19 halftime lead but was outscored 40-29 by San Diego in the second 20 minutes.

Brigham Young came to Fresno and took the measure of the Bulldogs 72-67. FSU was down by six at the half. Matt James has a report on the first 20 minutes here.
In other Bulldog news, Ned Golubovic has a dislocated left pinky finger and is sidelined for a week or so.
