A Texas 'big' of interest to Utah State

Cory Remekun made the trip to Logan, Utah for a USU recruiting visit earlier in September. He's definitely in need of some groceries but appears to be a solid, if unspectacular, prospect.

He's seeing his classmates all around him make decisions on their college futures, but Cory Remekun isn't at that point yet. The solid 6-foot-8, 195-pound power forward from Mesquite High School is taking things slowly, visiting college campuses one by one and getting all the information he can about each and every program. There's no question that Remekun wants to sign in November, but it appears who he'll ink with won't be determined until maybe just before signing day.

"I'm still open and I'm looking for the right fit," Remekun said. "I might take all five visits. But I want to sign early so I can focus on the season..."

For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
