Chris Murray checks in today with his choice to finish third in the WAC and it's the New Mexico State Aggies:
No. 3 NEW MEXICO STATE
Coach: Marvin Menzies (second year)
Last season: 21-14, 12-4
Returning starters: Two (PG Jonathan Gibson, SF Wendell McKines)
Player to watch: Troy Gillenwater, fr.: Gillenwater is one of five freshmen on the NMSU roster, but he is the most talented. The 6-8, 230-pound big man, who initially committed to Oklahoma State, has a versatile offensive game. After redshirting last season, he has a year of experience in the Aggie system and could start from the season opener. Gillenwater is a little undersized for his power forward position, but he is tenacious on the boards and usually out-hustles his opponent for loose balls and rebounds... Go here for the remainder.
