Utah State recruiting news

Here's another tidbit on Utah State recruiting, again from the ever-reliable Jay Drew. Boise State also offered this kid and another key point is Bendall will be the only junior college big USU signs.

Bendall is the 6-foot-9 forward from Skyline High who played for the Aggies in 2005-06 before departing on an LDS Church service mission to Nauvoo, Ill.

Bendall returned in 2007, but the Aggies did not have a scholarship available at the time, and so Bendall enrolled at Salt Lake Community College.

He redshirted last season while the Bruins were making their run to the junior college national championship game, but practiced with the team and was evidently impressive enough in those workouts to earn the attention of Division I recruiters.

Bendall went through the recruiting process again, and last week he orally committed to Utah State for the second time...

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
