A Fresno area frontcourter, who had an offer from Fresno State, has agreed to sign with UC Davis of the Big West Conference.
DeAndre Medlock, 6-9 and 210, out of Clovis West High, probably -- we certainly don't know for sure -- was influenced by 6-9 big time recruit Greg Smith's decision to cast his lot with Steve Cleveland. What is also uncertain is how much FSU was still pursuing Medlock after Smith's verbal.
Medlock is in need of body work (aren't we all?) and entering a conference containing less powerful 'bigs' should allow for both a quicker adjustment and earlier playing time.
Davis' Gary Stewart is starting to build a solid foundation, especially with local and regional gets and should begin making some noise soon.
