Teddy Feinberg on the NMSU Aggies this season

LAS CRUCES — The New Mexico State University men's basketball team is like many in the Western Athletic Conference.

That is, a relative unknown, with essentially a brand new roster as opening night approaches, to go along with approximately zero seniors to speak of on the entire unit.

"We've got a bunch of new kids," coach Marvin Menzies said. "We're looking at eight, possibly nine new kids to the team. Four players return but just three with any real game experience. But those young kids, they're kids that we're really, really excited about."

During Tuesday's WAC basketball media teleconference, Menzies cited a handful of newcomers he was looking forward to seeing with the start of practice on Friday. The list included 6-foot-11 center Chris Gabriel, 6-foot-8 forward Troy Gillenwater as well as 6-foot-6 forward Robert Lumpkins...
