Rivalries are supposed to be fierce.
But when Redding Christian High School and Liberty Christian meet on the court in boys basketball, there's a feeling that borders upon deep dislike that pervades the gymnasium.
In the latest chapter of the small-school rivalry, Daniel Bartow scored 19 points as the Lions overcame a six-point deficit early in the fourth quarter to pull out a 58-50 victory over the Patriots on Friday.
Andrew Baxter added 15 points, including three big free throws, and Byron Brown added 10 rebounds to go along with seven points.
That was enough to offset Liberty's 6-foot-8 senior center Sam Hicks, who had 15 points and 18 rebounds, and a cadre of Patriot perimeter shooters... Go here for the remainder.
