Sometimes subtraction is actually addition

Many thanks to Sam Wasson at BleedCrimson.net for bringing this to our attention.

You have to love the directness of this Juan López column in the Nevada student newspaper. The opening line is killer but ANYTHING*** can happen in the WAC this season.

*** apparently except for Utah State being taken down

We weren't there but the Aggies probably played over their heads -- which certainly is do-able in the short term. But minus some players -- especially someone who can post numbers like Gillenwater has at times -- is difficult to overcome in the long run.

Losing to the Aggies was not acceptable given circumstances

How the hell did the Nevada men’s basketball team lose to New Mexico State?

Yes, the Aggies played a great ball game in front of a national audience on ESPN2 but come on. With all of the stuff the Aggies had been through this past week, there’s no way the Wolf Pack should’ve lost...

For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
