We love features on the young men who rarely get media attention and Shawn Harrison comes through today:

When he is on, look out.

A handful of Aggie opponents have witnessed first hand just how hot Stavon Williams can get. When the junior starts scoring, it usually comes in a flurry and mostly from 3-point range.

“Stavon is a guy that can take three shots and score nine points,” Utah State associate coach Tim Duryea said. “A threat like that, especially when you have an offensive post presence like we do, a guy like Stavon coming off the bench is even more valuable. Guys like him are rare.”

And the Aggies are glad to have him...

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
