It's New Mexico State over LA TECH

This game got a little too close from the Aggie perspective and leaves the unanswerable to be asked how much credit goes to the New Mexico State for the play that opened up a solid lead plus also winning at the end versus losing what theoretically should have been an insurmountable points difference?

On the flip side, do TECH fans take comfort in the Bulldogs storming back even though falling short or worry about falling behind to the degree the game seemed over?

We refer all who care to the classic "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

Each fan will fill in his or her own answer.

Here's Sam Wasson of BleedCrimson.net with a game report and photos:

Yowza. That's all you need to know about last night's game. The Aggies looked to be well in control of Louisiana Tech, much to our surprise in fact. We expected a close game but we did not expect the game to be close in the manner in which it became close. The Aggies had a comfortable 17 point lead with 7:59 remaining in the game but we just had this gut feeling that the game wasn't over. We were hoping the game was over but having kept tabs on La. Tech all this season as part of our Weekly WAC Check-Ins at Rush The Court we knew La. Tech would make a run. Unfortunately this was one of the times when we were correct...

LAS CRUCES — For the second consecutive game, the New Mexico State University men's basketball team dodged a bullet at the buzzer.

Louisiana Tech junior guard Kyle Gibson's 35-footer at the buzzer hit the backboard, was halfway down and rimmed out, giving the Aggies a 65-63 Western Athletic Conference win at the Pan American Center on Monday.

Fresno State forward Paul George had a potential game-winner miss at the buzzer in an Aggies' 79-71 overtime win on Saturday.

"We did a horrible job staying in front of him (Gibson)," Aggies coach Marvin Menzies said. "He's only got three seconds so you need to try to turn him but he went right by us. For him, it was a makeable shot because of his ability to shoot the 3 but fortunately we got the win in a great opportunity for us to learn from our mistakes and we made a lot of mistakes in this game but I don't want that to take away from all the good things we did early in the game..."
