And you know what that means. First-half awards time. Here are my selections for WAC player, freshman and coach of the year, as well as the league's first and second teams.
Play in both the non-conference and conference schedule are factored in, with a little more weight given to the WAC games.
Player of the Year
Gary Wilkinson, Utah St.
Wilkinson has been the best player on the best team in the WAC, placing third in scoring (17.3 ppg), third in field-goal percentage (60.3), fifth in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and fifth in free-throw percentage (83.1). He hasn't locked up the award just yet, but it would be hard to overtake him if Utah State finishes first in the WAC... Go here for the remainder as there's plenty of grist for the mill.
