We don't normally do game previews but...

It doesn't rank up there with say Joe Namath guaranteeing a Jets win over the Colts before Super Bowl III but you knew that Anthony Thomas' January 29 declaration after Boise State lost to Idaho would not be forgotten.

With a win, Idaho will earn even greater credibility in the state and the WAC but especially with the former while Boise State needs a victory to keep pace with Nevada and ahead of New Mexico State.

Can the Boise State men back up Thomas' words?
After losing to Idaho earlier this season, the Boise State guard said he would never lose to the Vandals again.

Boise State point guard Anthony Thomas joked before practice Monday about all the media that wanted to interview him.

It was Thomas, of course, who issued a bold statement after rival Idaho beat the Broncos 63-59 on Jan. 29 in Moscow to snap its 14-game losing streak in the rivalry.

"... You can quote it or do what you want - Anthony Thomas will never lose to the Idaho Vandals again as long as he plays," Thomas said after the game, one in which he was outplayed by Idaho point guard Mac Hopson.

Now the junior gets a chance to back up his words as Boise State (17-7, 7-4 WAC) plays Idaho (11-13, 5-6) on Wednesday at Taco Bell Arena.

"I probably shouldn't have said what I said, but I was a little emotional when I said it," Thomas said Monday. "But at the same time, it lights a fire in our team. I said what I said..."

Go here for the remainder.

I'll be liveblogging this one tomorrow night from courtside at Taco Bell Arena. We'll see if Anthony can cash the check he wrote that night in the Kibbie Dome press room.
