If two themes have emerged in this Western Athletic Conference season, it's these:
1. Any team can beat any other team in any arena.
2. Most games are going to come down to the final 5 minutes.
Of the 46 WAC games played through Monday night's action, 24 were decided by six points or fewer or in overtime... Go here for the remainder.

Nevada still searching for answers

Before the season began, Nevada basketball coach Mark Fox admitted that his team didn't have all the pieces to the puzzle. Namely, the Wolf Pack was missing a true center and veteran experience.
Still, his team was selected by the Western Athletic Conference coaches and media to finish atop the league. The conference slate started off well enough, with the team winning five of its first six league games.
But the Wolf Pack has dropped three of its last four games -- including a pair of heart-breakers at home in the final minute last week. Fox said it is part of the maturation process his team must go through, a process that cannot be sped up.
With the WAC Tournament beginning exactly a month from today, here are five things the Wolf Pack is still searching for, before the automatic berth for the NCAA Tournament officially goes on the line at Lawlor Events Center next month... Go here for the remainder.

Teams jumbled up behind Utah State in WAC rankings

(Update: The rankings have been updated to reflect Fresno State's 88-82 win over Boise State late Monday night. Apparently every team in the WAC is the same accept for Utah State. I know I haven't been covering the WAC for very long, but this has to be one of the weirdest seasons in league history).
1. Utah State
Record: 23-1, 11-0
Last week’s rank: 1
Last game: Beat Louisiana Tech, 60-52, in Logan
Next: Thursday at Idaho
Comment: When you’re first in the conference in field-goal percentage offense and field-goal percentage defense, like Utah State is, you’re going to win the majority of your games... Go here for the remainder.
