Following New Mexico State's 62-60 victory at Nevada, Aggie players talked about Saturday's game as the best win of the season, up to this point, for the program.
One of the big plays of the game involved a kick out to sophomore guard Gordo Castillo who drained a 3-pointer, giving the Aggies a 33-32 halftime lead and keeping the momentum going in their favor.
That shot was set up by a Robert Lumpkins drive to the basket, where he found Castillo open in the corner.
"I drove to the basket earlier that game and got my shot blocked and Gordo came up to me and said he was open in the corner so the next time that I went to the basket, he was open like he said he was and he knocked down the shot," said Lumpkins, a redshirt sophomore guard from Washington D.C.
Lumpkins had 4 points, four rebounds and an assist in 14 minutes against the Wolf Pack as part of a limited Aggie bench, after head coach Marvin Menzies suspended freshman point guard Terrance Joyner indefinitely on Wednesday and redshirt freshman Troy Gillenwater for Saturday's contest...
