The two teams totaled nearly 200 points but it was Boise State that came out on top in Las Cruces.

The Aggie men's basketball team lost their final home game of the season last night 104-92 to Boise State. The loss drops the Aggies' record in conference to 8-7 and now, with a very tough road trip to Hawai'i on tap for Saturday, there's a distinct possibility that the Aggies could finish at 8-8 and in 5th place in conference play. In fact, the Aggies need help from teams not named Idaho and Boise State to not finish with the 5th seed because both Idaho and Boise State hold tiebreakers over the Aggies, Idaho for their sweep of Boise State and Boise State for their sweep of the Aggies and Idaho if they win out and get some help from Nevada, could finish with the 3-seed. The good news is the Aggies can finish no lower than the 5th seed... Go here for the remainder.
Jason Groves has a blog entry about the game, focusing on the Aggie defensive effort.

LAS CRUCES — Scoring points isn't an issue when New Mexico State and Boise State hook up on the basketball court.
That can present a problem when the effort is lacking defensively.
The Broncos outraced the Aggies in the first half and out muscled them in the second half for a 104-92 victory on Monday at the Pan American Center.
"Transition defense was the biggest thing tonight," Aggies junior guard Jonathan Gibson said. "They were hitting shots in the first half and we missed some defensive assignments. In the second half, there was a lot of post-to-post passing and they hit a lot of 3s in the first half and their big guys were in foul trouble..." Go here for the remainder.
Nick Jezierny was on the road last night and filed this game report (big hat tiup to the management of the Idaho Statesman):

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - When the Boise State basketball team arrived at the Pan American Center on Sunday night for a light practice, there was some reminiscing about last year's WAC Tournament championship.
"Me and a lot of the guys from last year looked around and said, 'The last time we were here we were cutting down the nets and there was all that confetti,' " senior Jamar Greene said. "We had the same locker room as last year and we just had the whole little feeling going."
And then the Broncos went out Monday and delivered a performance worthy of a champion - a 104-92 victory over New Mexico State in front of 7,252 fans. The win snapped a season-long losing streak... Go here for the remainder.
