TMB interviews Don Verlin

Yeah, we know we need to let it go and maybe it doesn't matter to Don Verlin seeing as his mentor was voted the Coach of the Year but the next WAC coaches meeting would be really interesting if Coach Verlin asks for a show of hands regarding who voted for him. If the other coaches don't 'fess up then we say it's time to bring in Jack Bauer for a little consulting.

Actually, the original intent of this entry is to highlight an interview Travis Mason-Bushman and Vandal Nation did with Don Verlin:

Idaho’s hoops coaches spoke to the media yesterday in preparation for this week’s Western Athletic Conference tournament. Below are Don Verlin’s remarks; we’ll have Jon Newlee’s thoughts later this evening.

Coach, are you feeling pretty good right now? A third place finish in the WAC and you guys did what you needed to do at the end of the season to get there.

We’re feeling great. You know, I think if you’d have told us at the start of this year we’d be the third seed, we would have took it and not played the games. We’re extremely happy, we’re playing well right now and we’re one of the hottest teams going into the tournament. Our entire team is very excited for this week. We’re feeling good about ourselves, which we should be...

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
