Now Young did miss the first half of the Aggie season finale for disciplinary reasons -- that is the area in which we want to see him step up -- but he certainly came on during his sophomore season, with he and Mac Hopson vying for the most valuable player runner up position behind Gary Wilkinson.

New Mexico State sophomore guard Jahmar Young is a first-team Western Athletic Conference selection and was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 6 first team last week.
It should come as no surprise, and it likely won't be the last honor the talented guard from Baltimore will receive in his career at NMSU.
"I worked hard for it so I'm not surprised," Young said. "I appreciate it because the coaches vote on it, so it's an honor."
Young finished as the league's leading scorer at 18.1 points per game for the 16-14 Aggies, who are seeded fifth for this week's WAC Tournament in Reno, Nev., and will open the tournament on Thursday against No. 4 Boise State in the early quarterfinal... Go here for the remainder.
