The mention of coach Greg Graham and his Boise State basketball program typically elicits one of three responses:

• Appreciate his success.

• Not so much.

• Don't really care.

The seventh-year coach led Boise State to its best season in school history last year, has at least 10 former players in the pros, has the best graduation rate in the WAC and rarely deals with off-the-court issues. Then why is home attendance at such a low, and why are the message boards and talk radio filled with a negative vibe?

Graham met with Statesman college basketball writer Nick Jezierny on a couple of occasions over the past week to discuss this season, his role with the team and the state of his program...

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
