RENO, Nev. — Nine turnovers for a game doesn’t seem like a lot.
In fact, it was more than two turnovers less than Utah State’s season average going into Saturday’s game at Nevada. The Aggies entered the contest averaging 11.5 turnovers a game.
But then you factor in how the Wolf Pack started the showdown between the top two teams in the Western Athletic Conference at the Lawlor Events Center, and extra opportunities are not good. Nevada hit 11 of its first 18 shots from the field, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range.
To make matters worse, the Wolf Pack also got to the free-throw line early in the game, sinking 7-of-8. The hosts built a 35-16 lead at the 7:15 mark of the first half... Go here for the remainder.
