Chris Murray bares his soul

Okay, the headline is overly dramatic. But it's better than Chris Murray baring his sole towards us. He offers his game predictions today all the way through the championship game. Now, if he is correct, how many electronic congratulations will he receive? As opposed to if he is incorrect and the number of loaded-with-bear razzberries that will come hurtling his way? Why is it that more people will take the time to send enmity than appreciation?

The WAC Tournament officially began last night when Fresno State rallied to beat Hawaii in the play-in game. Now the quarterfinal round of the tournament is set, which means it's time for some predicitions. Here is how I think the bracket will play out.

Quarterfinals

No. 5 New Mexico State beats No. 4 Boise State (Quarterfinal 1: Thursday, noon): I'm going against the grain as Boise State is the better seeded team and swept NMSU this year. The last time these teams matched up, Boise State won 104-92. Whichever team is more interested in playing defense in this game will get the victory... Go here for the remainder.

11/01/08: LOUISIANA TECH UPDATE: "Kevin McCarthy over at Parsing the WAC, an excellent source of WAC basketball news, was contacted by somebody familiar with the recent departure of four Louisiana Tech basketball players (which we touched on last week). For those who don't know, Drew Washington, Dwayne Lathan, Orrim Tims and Brandon Mims were dismissed after meeting with coach Kerry Rupp two weeks ago. Lathan said he was blindsided by the decision. McCarthy’s source, who remained anonymous, said there was more to the story than met the eye."
